Herbert sat on the sofa, completely content. The TV remote was in his hand, and a bowl of chips sat beside him.

Margot walked in, carrying a muddy net.
"Herbert," she sighed, "Brian's stuck his new football on the roof again. I need you to get it down."

Herbert groaned. "Can't you just leave it? He'll get it eventually."

"No, Herbert. It's blocking the satellite signal. And I'm trying to watch my gardening show. Honestly, sometimes I think you need a bit of reform."

Brian ran in, covered in grass stains.
"Dad, you gotta help! It's right by that big rock. If it falls, it's gonna be history!"

Herbert reluctantly got up. "Alright, alright. Let's go before someone tries to shoot it down with a slingshot."

Outside, Herbert looked up at the roof. The football was indeed perched precariously near a large, mossy rock.

"You're lucky I love you both", he mumbled, grabbing the net from Margot and heading toward the ladder.

Margot smiled, shaking her head. "That's what you say every time, Herbert."

Later, inside, Herbert was back on the sofa, remote in hand, having delegated the washing of the net to Brian. He was, once again, completely content.
