Vocabulary 140 - B2

Herbert Walker sighed, looking at the pile of laundry on the living room floor.[tooltip]Herbert Walker sospirò, guardando la pila di bucato sul pavimento del soggiorno.[/tooltip]
"Margot," he called out, "This is? impressive. It's literally a mountain of clothes."[tooltip]"Margot," esclamò, "Questo è... impressionante. È letteralmente una montagna di vestiti."[/tooltip]
Margot walked in, unimpressed. "Yes, Herbert? And whose clothes are most of those?"[tooltip]Margot entrò, non impressionata. "Sì, Herbert? E di chi sono la maggior parte di quei vestiti?"[/tooltip]
Herbert chuckled nervously. "Well, some of them might be mine. I was just thinking? maybe we should just embrace the chaos?"[tooltip]Herbert ridacchiò nervosamente. "Beh, alcuni di loro potrebbero essere miei. Stavo solo pensando... forse dovremmo semplicemente abbracciare il caos?"[/tooltip]
Margot raised an eyebrow. "Embrace the chaos? Herbert, we're not Vikings. This needs to be sorted. Dinner is almost ready."[tooltip]Margot inarcò un sopracciglio. "Abbracciare il caos? Herbert, non siamo vichinghi. Questo deve essere sistemato. La cena è quasi pronta."[/tooltip]
"Okay, okay," Herbert grumbled, picking up a stray sock. "But if Brian complains about not having clean socks for school tomorrow, it's acceptable that he wears shoes without socks."[tooltip]"Okay, okay," brontolò Herbert, raccogliendo un calzino spaiato. "Ma se Brian si lamenta di non avere calzini puliti per la scuola domani, è accettabile che indossi le scarpe senza calzini."[/tooltip]
Margot paused. "Herbert! No! He'll get blisters. This is why I say sometimes that I want a divorce."[tooltip]Margot si fermò. "Herbert! No! Gli verranno le vesciche. Questo è il motivo per cui a volte dico che voglio il divorzio."[/tooltip]
Herbert looked genuinely hurt. "Don't say that, Margot! I'll help. I'll? I'll sort the whites!"[tooltip]Herbert sembrò sinceramente ferito. "Non dirlo, Margot! Aiuterò. Io... sistemerò i bianchi!"[/tooltip]
Margot smiled slightly. "Alright. The whites are your mission. But if I find a red sock in there, you're doing dishes for a week."[tooltip]Margot sorrise leggermente. "Va bene. I bianchi sono la tua missione. Ma se trovo un calzino rosso lì dentro, laverai i piatti per una settimana."[/tooltip]
Herbert gulped. He carefully picked up the laundry basket. "Understood."[tooltip]Herbert deglutì. Prese con cura il cesto della biancheria. "Capito."[/tooltip]
Later, Brian walked into the kitchen. "Dad, are my skateboarding socks clean yet?"[tooltip]Più tardi, Brian entrò in cucina. "Papà, i miei calzini da skateboard sono puliti?"[/tooltip]
Herbert, covered in detergent, peeked from behind the laundry room door. "Almost, Brian! Almost!"[tooltip]Herbert, coperto di detersivo, sbirciò da dietro la porta della lavanderia. "Quasi, Brian! Quasi!"[/tooltip]
