Herbert was very excited. He'd seen a TV commercial about a new type of gardening system. It was a big tank where you could grow all your vegetables.

"Margot, imagine!" Herbert exclaimed. "No more weeds! We'll have the best tomatoes in Oakhaven! This is the foundation of our future success!"

Margot raised an eyebrow. "Herbert, you can barely water the plants we already have."

Herbert waved his hand dismissively. "This is different! It's a self-watering system! It's practically a demonstration of modern technology!"

A few days later, a huge crate arrived. Herbert, with Brian's help, started to assemble the tank.

Brian, always eager to avoid chores, saw an opportunity. "Dad, I think I wounded my finger!", he said, displaying a tiny scratch. "Looks like I need a bandage. And maybe some ice cream for the pain."

Herbert, distracted by the complicated instructions, just nodded. "Alright, alright. Go inside. Just don't scare your mother."

Two weeks later, the tank was assembled. It was enormous. It filled the entire backyard. But nothing grew inside.

Margot sighed. "Herbert, I told you. Sometimes, simpler is better."

Herbert looked dejected. Then, his eyes lit up. "But look at the size of it! We could fill it with water and turn it into a swimming pool!"

Margot just shook her head, smiling slightly. "Honestly, Herbert."
