Herbert sat in his armchair. He wanted to watch TV. He looked for the remote, but it was not there. "Margot!" he called. "Have you seen the remote?"

Margot walked in from the garden. She was covered in dirt. "No, Herbert. Maybe Brian has it? He likes to link things to the TV to play his video games."

Herbert sighed. "That boy!" He stood up, groaning a little. Finding the remote felt like hard work. He went to look for Brian.

He found Brian at the park. Brian was trying to teach Laura how to skateboard. Laura was not very good. She fell down.

"Brian! Have you seen the remote?" Herbert asked.

Brian looked up. "No, Dad. I was at the park. Maybe Molly has it. She likes to hide things."

Herbert went back home. He saw Molly near the church. She was playing with Captain Hoppy.

"Molly, do you have the remote?" Herbert asked. Molly giggled and pointed to the toy box. Herbert looked inside. He found the remote under a pile of toys.

"Ah-ha!" Herbert said. He went back to his armchair. He turned on the TV. He felt a sense of advantage now that he had the remote.

Later, Margot was baking a cake. Herbert walked into the kitchen. "That smells good, Margot!" he said.

"Thanks, Herbert. I'm making it for the church bake sale," Margot replied. "Did you find the remote?"

"Yes! Molly had it. She likes to hide things," Herbert said. He paused. "You know, I can identify almost any dessert by smell alone."

Margot smiled. "I know, Herbert. Now, please don't eat the cake before the bake sale."

Brian walked in. He looked at herself in the window. "Wow, I'm sweaty!" he said. "Can I have a piece of cake?"

"No, Brian!" Margot and Herbert said together.

Laura came in. She held up a flyer. "I'm collecting donations for the community garden," she announced. "Maybe we can sell some of Margot's cake?"

Margot laughed. "Good idea, Laura!"
