Vocabulary 44 - A1

Herbert sat at the kitchen table. He wanted to sell his old comics.[tooltip]Herbert era seduto al tavolo della cucina. Voleva vendere i suoi vecchi fumetti.[/tooltip]
Margot walked in. "What are you doing, Herbert?"[tooltip]Margot entrò. "Cosa stai facendo, Herbert?"[/tooltip]
"I'm going to sell these comics! It will be easy money," Herbert said with a smile.[tooltip]"Ho intenzione di vendere questi fumetti! Saranno soldi facili," disse Herbert con un sorriso.[/tooltip]
Margot looked at the comics. "They are full of holes, Herbert. Nobody will buy them."[tooltip]Margot guardò i fumetti. "Sono pieni di buchi, Herbert. Nessuno li comprerà."[/tooltip]
"Maybe someone will!" Herbert replied. "I will design a nice poster."[tooltip]"Forse qualcuno lo farà!" rispose Herbert. "Disegnerò un bel poster."[/tooltip]
Later, Brian came home from school.[tooltip]Più tardi, Brian tornò a casa da scuola.[/tooltip]
"Dad, can I have a snack?" Brian asked.[tooltip]"Papà, posso fare uno spuntino?" chiese Brian.[/tooltip]
"Not now, Brian. I'm busy trying to sell these comics," Herbert said, pointing to his poster.[tooltip]"Non ora, Brian. Sono occupato a cercare di vendere questi fumetti," disse Herbert, indicando il suo poster.[/tooltip]
Brian looked at the poster. It showed a badly drawn superhero.[tooltip]Brian guardò il poster. Mostrava un supereroe disegnato male.[/tooltip]
"Maybe you should ask Laura for help with the design," Brian suggested. "She's good at drawing."[tooltip]"Forse dovresti chiedere a Laura di aiutarti con il design," suggerì Brian. "È brava a disegnare."[/tooltip]
Herbert thought for a moment. "That's a good idea! It might make it easy to sell them."[tooltip]Herbert pensò per un momento. "È una buona idea! Potrebbe rendere facile venderli."[/tooltip]
Margot sighed. "Just don't get your hopes too full, Herbert."[tooltip]Margot sospirò. "Solo non farti prendere troppo dalle speranze, Herbert."[/tooltip]
The next day, Herbert tried to sell the comics at the park, but it was not easy at all. No one wanted old, damaged comics. His bag was still full at the end of the day. Maybe he needed a better design for the posters. He went to the pub to think.[tooltip]Il giorno dopo, Herbert cercò di vendere i fumetti al parco, ma non fu affatto facile. Nessuno voleva fumetti vecchi e danneggiati. La sua borsa era ancora piena alla fine della giornata. Forse aveva bisogno di un design migliore per i poster. Andò al pub a pensare.[/tooltip]
